We had an eventful weekend! We decided on Friday night that we were going stir crazy in the house and wanted to go to dinner. We had a coupon for a great little Mom and Pop steakhouse just down the street. We figured we better do a trial run of dinner out, as we also had plans for a Valentines dinner with friends the following night.
We got to the restaurant and it was packed, but we weren't worried, Jake was sound to sleep. We told the waitress we were in no hurry, baby was asleep and we were out of the house. We ordered the food, Jake was out. Got the salads and soups, Jake is snoring, no lie. We get the hot and delicious food, and I go to take my first bite, Jake wakes up screaming, how did he know?????? Well.... Mike is a wonderful guy, he took Jake and walked with him around the restaurant so I could eat my food while it was hot, so great. The waitress came by and saw what Mike was doing. She took his food back and put it under the warmer so Mike could enjoy a hot meal as well. I finished my dinner and traded places with Mike. So much for our nice dinner "together" Oh well it was still a good time.
So for the dinner on Saturday, I planned a little better. I strategically fed him all through the day, tried to keep him awake as much as I could and hoped for a better result. The restaurant we were headed to on Saturday was much bigger and I doubt they would have been as accommodating at the other place.
Jake did fantastic! All my worry was for nothing. We were there for 2 and a half hours and Jake slept soundly the entire time. Even when the waiters
sang their incredibly loud Happy Birthday song to the table next to us. Even when we played pass the baby around the table, he was out. It was so nice to eat and visit with everybody, completely relaxed. We had a WONDERFUL Valentines weekend.
