6 month Dr. Appt

We had Jacoby's Dr. Appt today! He actually weighed slightly less than I thought he would. He came in at 19 lbs. 13 oz (although he filled a diaper literally right before we got on the scale!) and was 28 inches long!! He was 89-90 percentile for both height and weight, please believe, his Daddy is so proud :) Dr. was surprised we hadn't introduced any solids yet, and he was still booby baby, with some formula mixed in! We are sure we have a football star on our hands.

My Uncle Pat

Jacoby loves his Uncle Pat. We don't get to see him as often as we would like, but when we do, Jake has the best time. When I compare baby pics of Jake and Pat they are nearly twins. In fact I have referred to Pat as Jake's grown-up twin. Pat is one of those guys with a hard shell, but an interior of mush :) It is so wonderful to watch him with his nephew. He turns into a big teddy bear, who happens to be handy with babies! He was here recently, and will be back soon ( hopefully Aunt Julie will be along!!)

Meeting the Governor!

So obviously this blog is devoted primarily to Jacoby, but I will always love to include his "Big Bros" really cool moments as well.
Today Trevor and I (Jacoby was home passed out with grandpa) attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the expansion of the Boys and Girls Club Trevor attends throughout the summer. One of his "BFF's" Chris and his sister Emma were the Emcees of the ceremony, and as you can probably tell by the title the Gov. of WA state was there. Agree or not with her politics, it is quite something to not only meet with, but hold a brief conversation, and joke with the Governor of your state. My boy may well be in the Columbian tomorrow!!! And he was such a polite gentleman when he met her, it made me puff up a bit with Mommy pride :) (Although I did threaten mortal consequence if he pulled any nonsense :) )

6 month post!!

Wow, 6 months has gone by so quickly, and Jacoby is doing so much. He has recently started shaking his head "no" at us, which, I am sure we will one day regret :) He also started taking water out of a straw. Doens't sound like a whole lot, but he would never even take anything not lukewarm in his mouth before this, so we are making great progress toward solid foods! Jake has his 6 month Dr. appt tomorrow and Mon can't wait to see what his measurments are. Here are a few of the pics Mommy's BFF took!

Sitting up!!

Just yesterday Jake began doing something he hadn't been doing before. He is sitting up on his own. He can hold himself up for 10-20 seconds most times, and then will tumble over and laugh. He is working his tummy muscles, because he will lean far forward, and pull himself back up to sitting straight. Such a big boy!!

I can sit up!!

Jake's 1st 4th!

We had a very busy day yesterday! Jake got all done up in his 4th of July outfit from Grandma and we headed out. Our first stop was Woodland, to check on Meghan, and then on to a long time family friends' home. A few people there hadn't met Jake yet, so it was exciting for all. HE got to see his friend Coleman and my Mom and Dad were there as well.
After we got some yummy food, we hit the road again, back into Vancouver. We stopped off at a friends' BBQ, and got to visit with another close friend who has been out of town. Jake was getting a little tired at this point, so we cut the visit a little short so he could get a good nap in before we left for our final destination of the day.

We had planned to do dinner and fireworks at Rob and Christina's. This has turned into a bit of a tradition for both our families. Jake loves going over there and seeing all the bigger kids, and so far the bigger kids still enjoy giving him attention.
I wasn't sure if Jake would make it til dark or not, but I figured I would bring a bouncer out, and if he fell asleep, he would fall asleep.
Well, he LOVED the fireworks. All of them, except the groundflowers, for what ever reason, he did not like those. Even the big ones, with the big booms ( he had earplugs!!) didn't startle or upset him at all. He sat with Aunt Lori through most of the show, and finally passed out toward the end. He was a tired little guy, but I do think he enjoyed all the festivities.

I love the 4th!

Naked baby in the house!

Ok so I got Jake out of the tub tonight, and rather than dress him in his room, I brought him out to the couch. I looked at him laying on the towel, and thought that it was about the most adorable thing I have seen today :)
Oh the open shirt pics are from earlier, when he refused to take a nap and I had to savor when he finally gave in and fell asleep.

Belated Father's Day post

Father's Day was awhile ago and i have been slow in getting the pics up from that day. We had a great BBQ with Mike's Mom and Dad. Always a fun time. Jake really loves getting to see Grandma and Grandpa. Trevor was with us as well, and that was special. Daddy had both his boys on his day :)

Johnny Jump Up, I haz one!!

Jake got a jump up from his friend Kenny, and he is in love. He bounces and laughs, it is adorable. He's even passed out in it a couple of times.

Were still waiting on that first tooth. Everyone seems to think they can see something coming through, but I see nothing, so the wait continues.
