Zoo Trip

Apparently I am a blogging fool today. I forgot to post about Jake's first Zoo trip! Our local (Portland) Zoo has $2 Tuesday every second Tuesday of the month, so it is very economical to go. Jake is still free and I can come up with 2 bucks! We went with Kathleen, Kenny, Payton, Taylor, my sis Katie and her friend Hayley. We had a blast, altough Jake didn't know it because he was asleep the entire time!!! I would have taken more pictures, had Jake actually been awake, but here ya go!

My two boys

When Jake was born we took many pictures of him first arriving. When we later compared those pictures to the ones of Leo when he first arrived it was amazing. They looked almost identical. Jake is his own special person, just as Leo was, but I believe that Jake has shown us a taste of what Leo would have looked like. I am posting both pictures of the boys just moments after birth. You try and tell them apart. If there weren't the different colored gloves on the nurses hands, I don't think I would be able to tell them apart. All that really matters is that Mommy and Daddy love both their boys so so much.

Draft Day

As many already know the NFL draft was this past weekend, and of course Daddy was super excited. We decided to have a "draft" party with several friends. Jake had a ball! He is so easygoing, he loves getting passed around from one person to another, as long as he eventually gets back to Mommy for his "noms" It is cute to see some of our single male friends holding a baby.

Jake and Jonny
Jonny is not single and has twin babies that were pictured with Jake earlier in the blog, but it is still acute pic.

Me and my grandpa

A personal favorite of mine. We went to lunch with Grandpa Hal and Grandma Judy last week. Jake was all over getting held by Grandpa, didn't even want to come back to me!

Catching Up

Like I have said before, I am really no good at this blogging stuff. Some of my friends and family can come up with these eloquent blogs on a regular basis, I cannot. So you get what you get I guess.

Daddy's birthday was on Sunday and it started out with a bang, so to speak. It has been weeks, knock on wood, since Jake has peed on one of us when we changed him. Well on the weekends, Daddy gets first diaper of the day duty. Jake must have known it was a special day because Mike took Jake into the room to change him and all of a sudden I hear Mike yelling ( not too loud mind you ) Jake Jake Jake hold on hold on hold on!!!! The pee was flying! Ended up on Mike, the changing table, the rug, the dresser, everywhere. We both got a good laugh and decided that was Jake's birthday present to Daddy!

Jake continues to amaze me all the time with what he is learning. He is really beginning to discover his feet, although I have yet to get a pic of it. He hates tummy time, which concerns me a little, but will lay on our laps and on his boppy, so I guess we will just keep plugging away. He will mimic me sometimes ( I think ) when I make certain noises, it is so cute!

Almost 3 months

Time is flying so quickly! Jake will be 3 months old later this week, don't worry I will post plenty of pictures. Jake continues to get bigger and develop his personality. He is a truly laid back baby. Not much gets him riled :) He has been sleeping through the night (8-9) hours for over 2 weeks now, so my fingers are crossed that we having the sleeping thing down. It is not hard to get this boy to laugh and giggle and we have lots of pictures of it. Aunt Lori has taken to calling him "apple cheeks" and that is a good description of his big full mouthed smile!
We are taking our first trip to the Zoo today ( weather dependant ) if the weather is too nasty we will do OMSI ( Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) they have lots of cool displays even for the little guys.

Dr Appt

Today we had our first unplanned Dr. appt. Jake has been battling a cough and sneezing since we got home late Monday. Last night he really scared us, and I took him in today. Luckily, all is well, he has a bit of upper respitory stuff going on, but nothing serious. Doc just told me to keep a close eye the next few days, like I haven't been hovering anyway :) Since we were at the doc, Jake got weighed, and he is at 14 lb 3 oz !!

Expert Traveler

We were lucky enough to get to go to Reno this weekend and Jake got to meet cousin Brady. Mike's brother Tom, and his wife Huong live there, and none of us had gotten a chance to meet baby Brady yet! I was nervous about the plane ride, but Jake was a champ. On the way to Reno he slpet most of the time and when he wasn't sleeping, he was nursing, so he was all good. We stayed one night at cousin's house and the other 2 in the hotel, and again, my boy is an expert traveler. He just rolls with the punches, and all the man handling by the grandparents :) On the flight back, he got a little fussy because he woke up right as we were beginning our descent. Even then he only cried for a few minutes and then was fine. Here are some pics of the boys meeting. I cannot wait until they are both a little older and able to interact a bit more. During this visit Brady just kinda looked at Jake like " hey man, why ya puking on my blanket :) "

Ok, well something is up with photobucket, I cannot upload photos, but will try again later.
