What a difference a week makes

Jacoby is one week old today. To say it has gone by fast seems kind of silly, but in this short week our lives have completely changed. We are so very in love with this little guy. I don't even know if I can describe the mixture of happiness, joy love, excitement and all the other things I feel everytime I look at Jake. He has done so wonderfully all week at home. He is sleeping great, we get about 7 hours a night, broken up a bit, but still pretty good. He is laid back,, and generally only fusses if he is hungry or is getting his diaper changed. I am really beginning to understand his ques and can usually figure out what he needs. We had a couple of nervous newborn parent moments this week, even called the afterhours nurse, but overall we all made it through like champs.
It is amazing to see Mike and Jake together. I already knew what a great Dad Mike is, but to see him in action 24/7 with such a little one is fantastic. I think he has probably changed more diapers than I have, he is up at night with us when Jake eats, and I practically have to wrestle the baby out of his arms. Already he is playing with Jake, arm wrestling, and play punching, pretty cute.
Trevor is also so in love with his baby brother. This weekend is the first time he has gotten to spend an extended amount of time with Jake. He was a bit nervous at first holding Jake, but is getting more and more comfortable all the time. He helps change diapers and got to help give Jake his first bath today, which jake did great in as well, seemed to love the warm water. I cannot wait to watch Jake grow with Trevor and for them to really bond over time.
Both sets of grandparents are coming for a visit tomorrow. We made them albums so they can all have their fill of baby pics. Should be a fun day.
